WONDER WOMAN 2 Will Be First Film to Implement New Anti-Sexual Harassment Guidelines

If any film is going to be the first to adopt a new set of anti-sexual harassment guidelines drafted by the Producers Guild of America (PGA), it’s fitting for it to be Wonder Woman 2. The first Wonder Woman movie, released in 2017, presented Diana Prince of Themyscira as a fierce warrior…that constantly had to prove herself to the males around her. She showed strength at every turn as she defended those in danger. And as a production, Wonder Woman 2 will work to protect its crew and cast from sexual harassment.

Via io9, the PGA announced their anti-sexual harassment guidelines on January 19. The ultimate goal of these guidelines is to prevent sexual harassment and eliminate it from the workplace. That’s the ideal situation. But in case it happens, the policy outlines clear recommendations for reporting incidents. It’s incredibly important for victims and witnesses to know they can report problems safely and without being punished. Hopefully we’ll see many productions adopt the policy in the near future.

The day after the guidelines were released, PGA presidents announced Wonder Woman 2 will be the first movie to officially adopt the policy. The movie is currently scheduled for release on November 1, 2019. This isn’t the only way in which the production is taking a stand. They also parted ways with accused sexual harasser Brett Ratner in November; his production company, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, was involved in financing.
