Walt Disney Studios Animation Shorts Coming to Blu-Ray and DVD

One would argue that one of the best parts of seeing Disney animated movies in the theater are the short films that start off your viewing experience. It’s those little intros that let you know you’re in for a magical theatrical treat.

Now, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment is releasing a new collection of those award-winning short films on Blu-ray and DVD. Highlights from the collection include the groundbreaking Mickey Mouse Cartoon, Get A Horse!, as well as Academy-Award winning shorts Paperman and Feast.

For the first time ever, fans will get their hands on never-before-released Tick Tock Tale, the Oscar-nominated Lorenzo, and the hit of the summer (or is it winter?), Frozen Fever. Parents, prepare yourself as your Frozen fanatic kids watch Olaf’s little Snowgies come to life over, and over…and over.

Everyone loves bonus features and this set includes intros from the filmmakers and a look inside the Disney Animation Studios Shorts Program. Hosted by T.J. Miller, (the voice of Fred in Big Hero 6 and the host of Nerdist’s own Cashing In With T.J. Miller), viewers get a look at the process of the artists and filmmakers who make the shorts at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Other featured shorts include John Henry, The Little Matchgirl, How To Hook Up Your Home Theater, Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa, The Ballad Of Nessie, and Tangled Ever After.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios Shorts Collection comes out on Blu-ray and DVD on August 18 with early digital download available on August 11, 2015.
