Universal Orlando Brings Marvel Characters To Rebooted Superhero Cafe

Long before Disney purchased Marvel, Universal Orlando‘s Islands of Adventure was the exclusive theme park home for Marvel’s superheroes. And while it’s rare for a new Marvel attraction to open in the park, Universal is rebooting Cafe 4 in Marvel Super Hero Island to bring six superheroes to dinner in a new experience.

Via Universal Orlando’s official blog, starting this Thursday, December 7, fans will be able to assemble at Cafe 4 for the new Marvel Character Dinner, which will feature Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Rogue of the X-Men alongside Captain America and Spider-Man as they go from table to table and pose for photographs and sign autographs for the guests. It seems a little odd that none of the Fantastic Four characters will be filling these roles at Cafe 4, but these are the superhero character performers that Universal Orlando had already been utilizing in the Marvel section of the theme park. The supervillain characters are apparently not invited.

The Marvel Character Dinner will also include “a menu created specifically for this new experience.” So far, the only specifics mentioned were Penne Bolognese, stuffed jumbo shells, specialty pizzas, fresh salads, rosemary lemon chicken, shrimp scampi, chicken scallopini, and “a heroic portion of assorted desserts.”

Reservations aren’t necessarily needed, but they are recommended. The Marvel Character Dinner will only be running from Thursdays to Sundays between 5:00pm and 7:00pm.
