Tracy Morgan Returned to SNL to Play One of Beyonce’s Babies

It’s near impossible to avoid the Beyoncé baby buzz these days, after the first epic and literal record-breaking picture of the pregnant mom-to-be hit Instagram earlier this month. As was expected, Saturday Night Live was bound to weigh in on the news, but it actually exceeded any of our expectations by involving legendary former cast member Tracy Morgan in last night’s episode.

In the sketch, Queen Bey is played quite perfectly by Sasheer Zamata in terms of nailing that cool Beyoncé tone, while Alec Baldwin plays a doctor giving her the first ultrasound of the twins. Morgan, alongside Kenan Thompson, plays one of the twins who are beyond excited to have Beyoncé as their mom (who wouldn’t be!?) Curious and a bit confused about the world outside their mother’s womb, the two talk about what life will be like once they’re born. Morgan has (in our opinion) the best joke of the sketch taking a guess that since people scream when they meet his mom that she must be important and either “a beautiful queen or a goblin.”

The pair of Babyoncés then get a bit antsy and start kicking which leads to Beyoncé singing a soothing lullaby (and remix) that only she can deliver. Sure, it’s a funny moment and all, but think about how that’s really going down in real life! Screw Baby Mozart music: Beyoncé and Jay Z’s kids have got to have the best in utero playlist imaginable just from mom and dad.

Oh man, and what happens when they’re older? They’re not going to have a leg to stand on when they’re 14 and are like “I just want to play music, mom and dad! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND!”

What are your thoughts on the sketch? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
