Thom Yorke Debuts Eerie New Song ‘Villain’ at New York Fashion Week

The last time we had a new Radiohead album it was 2011, when The King of Limbs was released and Thom Yorke danced the dance heard ’round the world. That’s a long time past now, but the Radiohead news is starting to flood in: Drummer Philip Selway said earlier this month that the band is back in the studio, and their plan is to finish Radiohead’s next album in the fall–and hopefully not wait too long after that to release it.

In July, Yorke performed a new song, which may or may not be a Radiohead song, at Latitude Festival in the UK, and, just a few days ago, footage of the performance finally found its way online.

Now, Yorke debuted a new song as part of the New York Fashion Week runway show for the Rag & Bone clothing brand. Listen to the new track below, which starts as an eerie piano ballad, with vocals by the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, before turning into his remix of MF DOOM’s “Gazzilion Ear” around the 4-minute mark.

The new track is part of what appears to be a healthy relationship between the band and the brand, as Yorke and Nigel Godrich have previously provided music for Rag & Bone’s runway shows on multiple occasions as far back as 2011. We can’t help but imagine what Yorke’s hypnotic strut would look like on a runway:
