TEKKEN Director Making A 4-Player Action Game for Wii U

When you make dope games and indulge in flashy behavior the way Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada does, you’re more than likely going to end up with a bunch of trolls that despise you. But that’s okay, because the haters-gonna-hate, and it gives you an excuse to always wear your “hater blockers” (or as most people like to call them, sunglasses).

During this morning’s Nintendo Direct, we found out that Harada will be taking his brilliance to the Wii U to make a free-to-play 4-player action title, which is currently running under the moniker Project Treasure.

Project Treasure will throw four players into the co-op fray to hunt treasure and fight enemies. Here’s to hoping that this game’s combat system features lots of Tekken-like combo juggling. Harada is known for making hardcore games for the fighting game community, but for this project in particular, the goal is to reach a broader audience, which means you can expect the game to be designed with accessibility in mind.

Given Harada’s track record, one can only wonder what exactly the famed fighting game maker is implying when using a word like “treasure.” There’s a couple of ideas that roll through my head:

Harada

Does Project Treasure sound like it’s going in the right direction with this “accessibility” talk? Would you rather Harada stick to Tekken and Soulcalibur games only? Juggle your thoughts into the comments below.
