Teaser for New STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer

Look, we get it; you’re a big movie company and you want to make sure people are excited, but it’s Star Wars! Of course we’re already excited! Not content to let us spend the next 30-some hours pouring over the recently released new poster for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and be excited that the trailer will be released on Monday night during the big football game, AND get our credit cards ready because pre-sale tickets will be available immediately thereafter, Disney and Lucasfilm have released a 15-second teaser for tomorrow’s trailer, in case we’d forget.

TOMORROW #TheForceAwakens

The teaser is, you guessed it, very, very short. Of the five shots it gives us, though, three of them are new, so we’re at least in the right direction. On top of BB-8 peeking around the Millennium Falcon’s corridors and that now-iconic shot of Kylo Ren blazing up his tri-saber, we also get shots of Rey (Daisy Ridley) fixing something and then seeing something that gives her pause, Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) aiming a gun and then seeing something amazing in the sky, and finally Finn (John Boyega) amid a group of X-Wing pilots in his brown leather jacket. I mean, I know these are just snippets of the excellence to come, but I’m certainly excited about it.

To remind: the full trailer will be shown during halftime of ESPN’s Monday Night Football telecast. Kickoff for that game is 8:15pm ET/5:15pm PT. So, maybe check back throughout the next hour or two to see where the clock is. Hopefully there won’t be too many penalties or out-of-bounds plays so the half will go by really fast. This will likely be the most-watched halftime show of any non-Super Bowl ever. I’m guessing.

Tell us your impressions of…those three shots, I guess, in the comments below!

UPDATE: Now there’s an even longer look at the Finn shot.
