Sylvester Stallone’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Role Revealed?

On the heels of the AMAZING (pun intended) Captain America: Civil War trailer earlier today, Marvel is at it again with some great casting news. If reports are correct, then Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone will be a member of the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

For those of you that lived under a HUGE rock in 2014, the Ravagers are the group of thieves and bounty hunters that took Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) from Earth and helped mold him into the Star-Lord he is today (when they weren’t trying to eat him, according to their leader Yondu).

No word yet on his official role with that group, but with a casting like this, you can only imagine that it would be in some sort of leadership capacity, much like Glenn Close with the Nova Corp. This follows the previously announced Tommy Flanagan (Sons of Anarchy) as another new member. One can only assume that the pedigree James Gunn is assembling for this group will mean a much larger role for them in next year’s sequel. No matter what Stallone’s path in the movie takes, I am very happy that he will be joining the ranks of the MCU.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in theaters May 5, 2017.

So what do you think? Will Sly make a good addition to Yondu and the rest of the Ravagers? Is there another Marvel character he would have been perfect for? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
