STAR WARS REBELS Leia Action Figure Revealed by Hasbro

If you think it’s been hard to find a Rey figure among the pieces of Star Wars merchandise, try looking for one of Leia. Or rather, don’t, because there aren’t any being made in accordance with The Force Awakens. (Han has been announced, but no Skywalker siblings for now). However, there is another version of Leia hitting the market, tied into the new series Star Wars Rebels. And it’s the youngest Leia you’ve seen yet.

As seen on Star Wars Rebels, young Princess Leia comes ready to foment rebellion and pave the way for A New Hope, with the aid of her…giant grappling gun? Okay, so action figure accessories for kid-focused lines aren’t always as elegant as the weapons the characters might actually carry. But after dragging their feet on getting Sabine and Hera into the line, Hasbro’s addition of Leia this early on in the program’s run shows that they have some faith in the line and in working on a less secretive timetable than they apparently got with the movie. Not having to clear actor likenesses speeds things up too.

Now, given the way Dave Filoni likes to tie up loose ends in the Star Wars universe, can we expect an episode focusing on Leia’s hairdresser, and how said character’s obsession with cinnamon buns takes the young princess from the ‘do depicted on this toy to the signature one she wore on her “diplomatic mission”?

It would be a day long remembered…

Is this enough Leia to tide you over, toy fans? Or does Hasbro need to speed up production on a Force Awakens General version? Let us know in comments.
