The SPACE JAM Soundtrack is Getting a Vinyl Rerelease

Record Store Day is coming soon (April 22), and that means that a slew of exclusive releases are on the way. However, there’s one in particular that should be of great interest to movie buffs and R&B fans alike: Atlantic Records is rereleasing the Space Jam soundtrack on vinyl (via Pitchfork).

The movie was obviously a huge success, but the soundtrack was almost as big. It’s sold over six million copies in the U.S. alone, and it featured perhaps R. Kelly’s defining song, “I Believe I Can Fly.” Aside from that, it’s arguably one of the strongest commercially released compilations of hip-hop and R&B music, with contributions from Seal, Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, LL Cool J, Method Man, and for good measure, Barry White, Chris Rock, and Bugs Bunny.

There’s no word yet on any potential bonus tracks or special packaging, but Record Store Day releases usually up the ante and do something special, so we look forward to finding out more about this one. In the meantime, check out the tracklist of the original release below, and let us know what your favorite song on this very strong album is.
