RUST Randomly Generates Player Penis Size Based on Steam ID

There are many things we have no control over in life. Many bits of ourselves are out of our control and Rust, a survival MMO, has taken the real-life approach in creating your character. It’s an interesting approach that has lead to many different outcomes, some unintentional. One of these results has been unpackaged by Reddit user, M4STER_TROLL (I know, great username) in a video where he displays different sizes of male genitalia.

Apparently usernames act as the catalyst for a formula that derives random outcomes for characters. Member size is an unaccounted-for result. Here’s what Rust designer Garry Newman had to say to Kotaku about the almost too hilarious to be true situation:

“It takes the 64bit int Steam ID and uses it as a random seed which is then used to randomise a bunch of stuff about the player—dick length being one of those. We do this so players will be kind of recognisable in game and that their identity could be something that will follow them around.”

In other words, it’s not up to you whether you’re a grower or a shower. You just kind of have to live with it, just like everything else in the game. Does in-game size really matter to people? Probably not, but it will be funny to watch the random social outcomes occur. Leave it to the internet to grab this and run with it.

One thing is for sure, this game just got a whole lot more popular around the internet forums. How do you feel about having a randomly generated penis size? Like a wise man once said to his snickering buddies in the corner of a darkened bar, it’s not about the size of the boat but the motion of the ocean that matters.
