The new year didn’t wait long to give us a new Rick and Morty…..promo, one that may or may not have any bearing on the upcoming season. (Based on the show’s track record, it isn’t even guaranteed to air in 2019.) However, unlike some other recent short ads for the show – which tend to just feature fun animation styles and feel more like Adult Swim‘s clever way of placating us while they make us wait for new episodes – this one might have hinted at a major return in season four. After some madcap action–reminding us all that Rick, in any form, stands tall on the infinite Morty food chain–arguably the greatest threat to their relationship, and possibly survival, shows up.
