Platinum Games’ Kenji Saito’s Wants to Make KILL LA KILL & BERSERK Games

Platinum Games’ Kenji Saito’s Wants to Make KILL LA KILL & BERSERK Games

Platinum Games has certainly been keeping busy this year with their work on Star Fox Zero, Transformers: Devestation, Scalebound, and Nier New Project. If Kenji Saito (Metal Gear Rising: Revengance director) has his way, the studio’s next project would include a high-octane title based on some extremely popular anime series. In response to a fan asking whether he’d be interested in making a game based off the Gatchaman franchise or Tatsunoko’s Karas OVA, Saito minced no words when responding as follows:

With Transformers slated for some time later on this year, it would be to all of out benefit to see this come to fruition. If there is one thing that this studio has mastered, it’s the hack-and-slash action genre. This is the same talented studio that gave birth to the quintessential kick-butt title Bayonetta 2– a masterpiece that will and should be emulated in the genre for years to come, as it’s as close to perfection as you can get in this genre. Not to mention that Kenji Saito directed Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, which is a great game on its own right. The point I’m trying to make: someone please make this happen. Platinum Games definitely has the gravitas, prestige, and ability to make a memorable Kill La Kill or Berserk title.

None of these ramblings mean that any of this will happen, however. There are so many factors that would have to go into this ever becoming a real project, though nothing is impossible. Would you want Platinum Games to get their hands on these anime series? What other anime shows would you want to be turned into a game?
