New Images from Robert Kirkman’s OUTCAST Series

Excitement is building for San Diego Comic-Con and everything that it will bring to the fans this week. Among the myriad of announcements, sneak peeks, and reveals that will blow minds this year, Cinemax plans to show off their new series Outcast. New photos from the series have been released, following soon after the release of an exclusive Comic-Con poster.

The photos seem to both be taken from the pilot episode that will be shown at Comic-Con. They both include Patrick Fugit as protagonist Kyle Barnes, and the second also features a blurry Philip Glenister as Reverend Anderson, another integral character in the story.

Outcast is based on the comic book series created by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman for Image Comics, as well as Kirkman’s own Skybound Comics, and follows the story of Kyle Barnes. Kyle is a young man struggling to understand strange peculiarities in his life and his long, familial history with demon possession. The show was actually optioned by head of Fox International, Sharon Tal Yguado, back in 2011 before Kirkman had begun writing the comic itself. The first issue of Outcast didn’t even hit shelves until June of 2014. Now, the series has been picked up as a 10-episode season, with the pilot directed by modern horror master Adam Wingard, director of You’re Next and The Guest.

Interested in checking out more of Outcast while at San Diego Comic-Con? Check out the panel at 3pm on Saturday, July 11th, featuring Robert Kirkman himself as they offer some inside info and a sneak peek at the pilot episode, and don’t miss the cast at our Conival stage at Petco Park at 12:45pm! The show has been picked up for its first season already, but will not air until some time in 2016. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know about it in the comments below!
