Netflix Brings Food Porn To The Next Level With CHEF’S TABLE

Get ready to salivate, Season One of the Netflix original series Chef’s Table is on its way!

Hitting your Netflix queues later this month is Chef’s Table – a six-part series showcasing some of the best chefs from around the globe. The series is directed by David Gelb whom you may remember is the director behind the critically acclaimed 2011 documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Based on the trailer alone, there is no doubt that this will be some of the best food porn available to our hungry eyes. [Editor’s Note: Cue that song from Dirty Dancing.] Each episode will showcase the careers and day-to-day lives of six of the world’s top culinary masters.

According to the trailer the chefs and restaurants will be:

Ben Shewry Attica Restaurant in Melbourne, Australia

Magnus Nilsson Fäviken in Järpen Sweden

Francis Mallmann El Restaurante Patagonia Sur in Buenos Aires, Argentina

Niki Nakayama N/Naka Restaurant in Los Angeles, CA, USA

Dan Barber Blue Hill Restaurant at Stone Barns and in New York City, USA

and Massimo Bottura Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy

Considering the respect Gelb gave to the beautiful culinary art of the then 85-year-old sushi master Jiro Ono in Jiro Dreams of Sushi, it’s pretty clear the series will have all of us drooling for each menu and at the very least trying to reproduce the dishes featured in each episode. We here at Nerdist are no strangers to the food porn game with our Home Geekonomics series and if these chefs were literally not some of the best on the planet, we’d be tempted to recreate some of the dishes ourselves. Who knows, maybe we will*.

*This writer having no hand in Home Geekonomics, this statement is simply wishful thinking that gourmet meals will be cooked by other Nerdist folk and somehow shipped to me in Chicago.

Which restaurant are you excited for the most? Is there a chef you wish would be featured in future seasons? Let us know in the comments
