Nerdist Week at Looking Back at the First Nerdist Podcast

A feature that’ll run every day during this week, Nerdist Week, at’s Anglophenia blog is a series on “Five Nerdist Podcasts That Shook the World” — in other words, we didn’t want to pick the five best (because we kinda like ’em all), just five that represent milestones in the development of the show, a sort-of sampler for the general public to follow the long, storied history of… okay, “long” isn’t accurate and “storied” is in the eye of the beholder, but you get the idea.

So the first one is up today, and it’s about, naturally, the very first Nerdist Podcast, the one recorded on Super Bowl Sunday in 2010 with Thomas Lennon. You can read the post by clicking here, and, in case you never heard it or it’s been a while, listen to it here:

It’s come a long way in a year and three-quarters, but the first one’s good as it is. Wait, have I forgotten anything? Right, this: Watch the Nerdist TV show on Saturday, September 24th, 10 pm Eastern, on BBC America, and tell your friends to do the same. Thank you! We’ll be here all week.

  1. Terry R says:

This is going to be great, I’ve already set my DVR.

  2. Chelsea D. says:

I can’t wait for the next podcast on the list…as well as…THE SHOW!!!

I’m really proud of you guys.

  3. Ben says:

Can’t wait for the show guys!!!
Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Rain Wilson episode will be part of the 5.

  4. Jenn says:

I live in Canada, so I don’t get BBC America. =( I really want to watch the show too. I really hope it’ll be available for download somewhere that’ll allow me to view it. I often can’t view things online because I’m in the “wrong geographic area”. Balls, I hate that!

  5. Amanda says:

    *BBC America

Oh god, I’m such a freaking nerd because I couldn’t in good conscience let that typo go.

  6. Amanda says:

I’m driving back to my mom’s house just to watch this since she subscribes to BBS America (but I’m gonna tell her I’m surprising her for her birthday). Cannot wait for Saturday!

  7. Mike says:

I am in the same situation as Peter, I am definitely going to watch this episode, (shakes fists in air at optimum for not providing BBC America). Will this episode be provided on and if it is would my viewing help you in anyway?

  8. Matt Jacobs says:

I’m with Peter… If I don’t get BBC America, How do I watch? Will it be available on Hulu? BBC’s website? Please inform with the generosity of your wisdoms.

  9. Peter says:

I don’t have BBC America is there a way to distally purchase the episode so I can watch and support you guys?
