Nerdist Week at BBCAmerica.com: International Nerd Overthrow

As Nerdist Week at BBC America’s Anglophenia blog races towards the finish line — the airing of the Nerdist TV show on BBC America Saturday night, September 24th at 10/9c, with guests Matt Smith and Craig Ferguson — they’ve gone and decided to pit American nerds against British nerds in a Nerd Cage Match to determine which is, um, nerdier.

I’m not sure I can endorse this. I mean, why should we have to choose between Moss on The IT Crowd and Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory? Isn’t there room enough for both? Simon Bird vs. Michael Cera — wait, Michael Cera’s Canadian! The ultimate result? You’ll have to go over there and read it for yourself. Here’s a hint: No matter how patriotic you are, it’s just one big all-encompassing world where nerdism is concerned. Kumbaya and all that.

Homeboy has an appointment with the Doctor every Saturday.

  2. Braedon says:

I’d go with The IT Crowd personally, Richard Ayoade is hilarious, even his name is funny.

  3. Vincent S says:

Moss FTW!!!!! Whatever your definition of nerd, the IT Crowd wins me over as a show and Moss is the best nerd out there. Sheldon’s better when he interacts with Penny and people that actually stand their ground like his mum.

  4. Tess of the Doobie Brothers says:

Sheldon can pound sand. Homeboy doesn’t even know Doctor Who.
