Nerdist Week at BBCAmerica.com: At the Intersection of Thick-Framed Glasses and Pop Music

It continues to be all about Nerdist and nerd-related stuff at BBC America’s Anglophenia blog, and today brings a post by Fraser McAlpine listing “Five Great British Nerdy Pop Stars.” Yes, Elvis Costello is at the top of the list, as you’d expect. But you can’t argue too much with the other choices, either, like The Proclaimers (the glasses alone would do it), Vince Clarke, Radiohead, and… wait, Led Zeppelin’s on here? Seriously? Fraser has his explanation, so I’ll let you go there and read it and draw your own conclusion. Me, I don’t see it, unless an unusual interest in sharks counts. (And if you don’t understand what I’m talking about, believe me, you really don’t want to know)

The post, as you know by now, is part of BBC America’s Nerdist Week campaign at BBCAmerica.com, and as in all posts related to that campaign, I’m duty-bound to inform you that the Nerdist TV special is on BBC America on Saturday, September 24th at 10/9c, and that you should watch and tell everyone you encounter to do so as well. But I’d be telling you that anyway.
