Science Explains Why Your Cat Keeps Knocking Stuff Over

Science Explains Why Your Cat Keeps Knocking Stuff Over

  1. This may be my number one favorite episode, it is hilarious.

  2. Joshua Bryan Hammack says:

Going through from 1- to whatever the number is… gotta say I really enjoyed the mini interview with Lamont…

    Well enjoy your burrito!

  3. Matty Stone says:

Hey, guys, check out this story I wrote in 2010. Your “Lamont Dozier” sounds like “My Guy”…which, much like Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight,” is coincidentally another song NOT written by Lamont Dozier.

  4. setlasmon says:

not to be the guy who always compains about the hostful names, but since I clearly am:

why is this not named “The Fart Bombs Are… Awful”?

  5. Bill Brasky says:

    – I once breast fed a wounded flamingo back to health.

    – My poop is considered currency

    – I waited in a vacant lot for them to build a bar..went in and bought a drink…and then burned it to the ground because i like to leave things the way i found them.

    Bill Braskey

  6. Morrissey says:

Damn you guys for making fun of me, I love it.

    #Brooding #GirlfriendInAComa #AnnoyingAltSingersOfThe80s

  7. Matt says:

Damn you guys for making fun of morrissey, I love it.

  8. Charles says:

The Leo Murry bit seems like it is founded in the SNL bit “Bill Brasky”.

  9. Vincent S says:

I listened to this on the drive to my exams. Was funny and adfter a light review of everything, I just continued listening and just become loose until everything started.

😀 Always loved listening to this thing and it annoying to have tiny ideas placed here and there that the podcast can end at any moment. Jonah having Jonah Raydio, Matt having AOTS and other podcasts, Chris being too busy. D: I don’t want it to end DDDDD:

But alas, you guy will inevitably reach that end. Hmm, last send out might be just “Enjoy your burrito” “oh YEEEEAAAAHHH!!” “Movie Reference, Movie Reference”

  10. odin42 says:

Yes, you must never stop the hostfuls. Looking forward to meeting you guys on friday!

  11. Jen says:

Ok, since you guys brought up the ‘at what point would we end the podcast’ … If it gets to the point where you don’t have enough time to do 2-3 a week, please keep doing the hostfuls.
Every hostful has a least one gut busting moment where i’m laughing too loudly at work, sometimes with tears running down my face.
Matt, did you ever get that sandwich?

  12. Mickie says:

I’m not sure what @Wonderfully Disguised was trying to do with that, but if “thoroughly annoy a homosexual” was on the list, then mission accomplished.
If the plan was to gently correct a nice human’s vocabulary without being a giant prick about it, the mission very much not accomplished.

  13. SayntMykl says:

LOL! MaryOgle said “Plus turning Christ…into steampunk…”

    You mean, like this?

  14. SayntMykl says:

    When Goths discover brown…

  15. Wonderfully Disguised says:

    Chris Hardwick

I’ve got some bad news for you. In this podcast, at 29 min and 30 sec, you insulted Chris Hardwick by calling him a “cocksucker.” I’m certain that after Todd Glass’ 28th podcast you were worried that this word was in your vocabulary and I am sorry to report that you are displaying a symptom of Pseudohomophobia.

Pseudohomophobia is a disease in which the aflicted appears to suffer from homophobia to observers yet is not homophobic. Many insurance companies do not treat Pseudohomophobia on the grounds that its ontological status is “internet fiction.” I am not an expert (IANAE) so to get a second opinion would require checking with two real experts.

Pseudohomophobia can only be cured by the slow and painful amputation of this word by trial and error. A common side effect of this operation is the occasional embarrassing flare-up which is severely compounded by inevitable self-loathing for somebody who is introspective and compassionate.

This is going to be terrible for you so I wanted to let you know I’m rooting for you and I hope you get well soon!

  16. Mercy says:

    @ Mary Ogle

Happy birthday! Went to your site! you are a great artist and as a fellow fan girl Congrats lol I’m not into the whole steam punk but i do love this podcasy also I loved your horses (I’m from a community in up state NY known for racing) and the water scenes as well. Congrats and happy birthday again

  17. Alex Haider-Winnett says:

I agree with DC_Chillin’. I hope it was the actual Lamont Dozior. But, I honestly doubt it.

Also, I apologize for the poor grammar and all around crappy post above. I guess that is what I get for trying to multi-task.

  18. Mary Ogle says:

OK I just need to take a moment to go all fangirl here – I’m almost 47(my birthday is tomorrow can you believe that, talk about the best birthday thing ever), so be very glad you can’t see this – OMG OMG OMG (I swear I have never typed 3 OMG’s in a row before. You’d think it would make me feel younger but it’s not working. Alas.) my artwork is on the nerdist podcast! Yaaay!! Whew. That was fun.

Thanks guys!! I was so glad to have the opportunity to give something back for all the hours of nerdist joy and inspiration. Plus turning Christ, Matt and Jonah into steampunk, cyborgian – cyborgic? type thingies was a complete and total blast.

Also thanks so much for the nice comments – I didn’t mean to scare anyone. Though I think in light of the likely advent of the zombie apocalypse it’s ultimately good for you. Builds character.

  19. LevelledUp says:

You should have called this podcast “Permission is Important”. Great mini-interview.

  20. DC_Chillin' says:

I really hope that was Lamont Dozier Chris interviewed and not an impersonator like someone suggested up above. I’m from Detroit so I recognize the mans contribution to music and how much of national treasure he is…that was some luck. That aside, loved the Leo Murray bit because it reminded me of the old Bill Brasky sketches off of SNL…
    (heres a reminder:
And lastly, shoutout to Jonah for his excellent music taste…RJD2’s The Horror is good shit (as is his follow up, Deadringer.)
Keep up the good work fellas…

  21. -BIGCHRIS- says:

Yo Chris… Thanks so much for taking the time to come hang out at our booth at the Image Expo… And a huge thanks for the shout out on the pod cast. You rock bro… Here’s a link if people are interested in checking out the Silence badge art. ROCK! -BIGCHRIS-

  22. Domitype says:

Just a quick correction – Extra-Action Marching Band (not Easy-Action.)

    Great show!

  23. Alex Haider-Winnett says:

I live in Oakland. And while it is possible that this guy really is Lamont Dozier. But it sounds like it could be one of the usual street hustlers who hang around down town.

In fact, it could even be this guy who was arrested two years ago in San Francisco who was arrested for impersonating Lamont Dozier.

  24. Missy says:

    Soooo… no more Jonah?

  25. Hi Chris! Thanks for coming by my table at the Expo. This was my first time checking out your podcast and I dig it! Loved the part with Lamont Dozier in this episode. Catch you at the next thing!

  26. Kevin says:

Great episode. I also thought that it would be funny if they had cast Morrissey as The Governor. Also Spielberg was 29 when Jaws came out, not 24.

  27. Aidan says:

Mr. Matt Mira was on his A game today

  28. Veronica says:

Last hostful before the Austin shows this weekend! Cannot wait to meet you guys!!

  29. Rich says:

Ahhhhhhhh… it all makes sense NOW! Thanks!

  30. clivodimars says:

the artwork is great this time!

  31. Three Toes of Fury says:

    … problem…i can explain.

The guys didnt mention it however they were all seated around a steampunk-based Ouija board througout the cast. (The photo above shows part of the board.) Things were fine until the end when the board misinterpreted Chris’ final words as the ancient spell “NJOIYER BORRETTO” which, regrettably, releases a beach-based-demon, the Sand Witch. Chris yelled this at her appearance. She then banished him, hexed Matt with a laughing spell, and was about to get Jonah, but fortunately he ran away. I assume he will helm the next hostful solo and ask for any chaotic-good class magic users to help summon back chris and…maybe…de-hex Matt.

  32. Rich says:

What the F— happened at the end of the podcast? I was listening and then all of sudden i hear “sandwich” Matt laughing and then Jonah storm off. Maybe I wasn’t paying close enough attention, but could someone explain what that was all about…

  33. Mercy says:

I love your podcast! but that picture kind of scares me. Something about the steampunk kind of feel creeps me out (tho i admit it’s good)

  34. Remster says:

Haven’t listened yet, but holy crap that art is both really creepy and really nifty all at the same time.
