  1. Patty Marvel says:

LOVED this conversation! And it was definitely a conversation, barely an interview or someone’s platform to promote a project – those are my favorite podcasts.

Some thoughts – the Journey conversation left me grinning SO wide because I cannot STAND Journey! I think I had my fill of them in high school – while the pinks and mundanes were listening to Journey and Bon Jovi, my friends and I were listening to Prince and Kate Bush and we were down with the protogoths who were listening to The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees. And I could throttle whoever at “Glee” thought to bring “Don’t Stop Believing” back to the pop culture forefront.

    Okay, rant over.

As for – Zach, was it? – talking about making music once he lost his job, THAT was inspiring. Go ahead and throw caution to the wind – GO make that demo or that painting or that novel or whatever when you’re laid off. WTF do you have to lose?

  2. Lost Midwest says:

This episode took me back. When Descended Like Vultures came out, I was living in a small mountain town in Colorado and my brother sent me a promo copy of that album. I played the shit out of it, but lost track of Rouge Wave after that. Not that I stopped liking them, just that’s how it goes. But several times a year, I pull out Descended Like Vultures out for a listen, and love every minute of it.

So thanks for putting this up, I am now going to spend the rest of the day listening to their stuff, and will probably buy some once I get paid.

And I have to say Chris, I love it when you interview a band that you are totally gushing over. I think it makes for a great interview. I felt the same about that Band of Horses one a while back.

Thanks for bringing me a few hours of joy each week.

    I love Chris’s Seinfeld voice at 41:30

  4. Paco Pele Pietro says:

All the music I like is freakin old.

But I will say, since the first episode of “Heroes” featured the song “eyes” by this band, I’ve been a fan. Well damn done.

I mean just look at this:

I’m not gonna lie to you, Marge, I don’t normally care for the podcasts with bands I’ve never heard of because I’m an old curmudgeon who hasn’t liked new music since 1998 arble garble.

This one was pretty enjoyable though. Thanks!
