Who Is the Secret Cameo in DEADPOOL 2?

Who Is the Secret Cameo in DEADPOOL 2?

  1. Jack says:

I remember Earnest doing Braums commercials.  It’s an Ice Cream shop in and around Oklahoma.  Still the best Ice Cream anywhere.

  2. Maria says:

Ah, just discovered this one with Nick Kroll! Great interview/conversation. I especially enjoyed Kroll’s behind-the-scenes insight. Next time he’s on, please ask him to go deeper into the Kroll Show’s creative process (specifically the writing period and how he/his team connect the characters across all the pseudo shows). Their creative decisions are so oddly right. No, really, it is one of the most fun shows to watch (and bizarre), and it’s rewatchability is endless. It took me a few episodes to get on board, but man, once you get it, you get it. Anyway, just want to know more!

  3. Kroll is an amazing and funny talent.

  4. wildcat says:

I remember Ernest (and Vern) from Quick Trip commercials, a few years after Ben Jones (aka Cooter Davenport of The Dukes of Hazzard) was harassed by his dog Lamar. 🙂

  5. jmac says:

    Blaster girl!!!

  6. Alwin says:

If you want to get the iPhone/iPad/etc remote videos on @Midnight and have the audio be loud enough, check into:

    1) Sennheiser KA 600i adapter cable. Plug in an XLR mic, and it’s converted to iPhone/iPad’s mic plug standard. Not sure how many comics bring their own SM58 et al with them.
    2) Audio-Technica ATR-35S lav mic. It has a 3.5mm plug and an in-line button cell battery, so you’d just need to get an adapter to convert TRS to the device people are recording on.

    Both under $30.

  7. Arabrabbra says:

LOVELOVELOVELOVE This man! Kroll rules. Cant wait til new season of Kroll Show! Havent watched a sketch show since Kids in the Hall but I watch Kroll Show religiously!

  8. michelle says:

one of the best things that was ever said to me by a friend,
when i was being particularly hard on myself, she said; “please don’t say those things about my friend.” That has had the greatest sustained impact on me and what i say about and think about myself.
we need to be as nice to ourselves as we are to our friends.

  9. mrTony says:

@lizzica Well everyone knows robots have log files. They could just do a lookup on their audit data, see how horrible the humans have been behaving, and subsequently conclude that they must all be destroyed. At least, that’s the first thing I’d do as a newly sentient robot.

  10. baroquenj says:

I would love a Katie Levine Nerdist podcast. I think a You Made It Weird with Katie would be great too!

  11. Ross says:

The sex-scene anecdote is purportedly something George C Scott said to his leading lady: “I apologize for getting an erection, and for _not_ getting an erection.”

  12. Ben says:

The regional ads that Jim Varney did as Ernest were for Braum’s. They call themselves an “ice cream and dairy store” and are kind of a cross between an old style ice cream shop and a convenience store. They’re located in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri & Arkansas (I looked it up). They have really great ice cream and burgers, if you’re ever in that part of the country.

Not sure if Varney did ads for any other companies, but everybody knew his Braum’s ads when I was growing up in Oklahoma City, in a “Love them or hate them” kind of way.

  13. bastien says:

This might make you guys feel like the silly ones, but Jim Varney actually started out as a stage actor and studied Shakespeare.

  14. alanso says:

That’s actually been my fave intro ever (as in, I listened to it all, sorry), more Katie please!

  15. Gwen says:

YES!!! Please make Katie (Katie Moneypenny) a guest on somebody’s podcast. Maybe YMIW since Pete seems to crack her up. She is the power behind the throne(s) and we want to know more.

  16. lizzica says:

Hmm… a robot remembering something from before it was sentient… curious.
…I couldn’t help myself. 🙂 You guys are awesome

  17. Megan says:

I was hoping you’d have Nick Kroll back on the show since his show is starting up again. I love Nick Kroll and I loved hearing the behind-the-scenes stuff about the Franco Roast.

    I just love you guys!

  18. Davina says:

Great to hear the NPR/All Things Considered piece on CH last night!!!
