Why the Internet is Overreacting About RICK AND MORTY Season 4

Why the Internet is Overreacting About RICK AND MORTY Season 4

  1. Chris says:

wow, this came out just a month after the Breaking Bad finale and no SPOILERS! warnings?

  2. EnglishBob says:

LOVED this episode, the Clarence Boddicker impression had me rewinding a few times! “Can you fly, Bobby?”

  3. RDaggle says:

Ike Barinholtz was a little modest when he mentioned he “also writes” for the Mindy Project. He and David Stassen have shared a Producer’s credit since the middle of season one, I believe.

  4. Chris says:

Wished it was longer. Felt like a super hostful, like when Jason Schwartzman was on. Should have kept him on longer. Bring him back.

  5. Arabrabbra says:

FUNNIEST EP IN A LONG TIME! No offense, all of your shows are entertaining, this one just had belly laughs and gaffaws loud enough to make my co workers tell me to SHUT UP! What a delight he is! Love him on Mindy Project. Would love to see him on At Midnight! Thanks Chris, Matt, and Jonah!

  6. JD says:

Dude, this was a solid episode.

  7. Ross says:

Why anyone would want to label themselves and take offense at generalizations directed at those labels by strangers….

…makes me feel like I’m back in grade school. Like whatever you like.

Speaking of which, why is Sci Fi written for 8 year olds? Irritating.

  8. Scully says:

@Dana & @Hardwick in that short intro I think he managed to be disparaging toward both genders of nerds. Women for not being “true” nerds and men for only being able to achieve nerdom at the expense of social acceptability.

I think Ike was trying to establish some cred right out of the gate but it did get my hackles up just a bit. I don’t believe the show can be held responsible for everything that comes out of a guests mouth but since it was brought up… I had some similar feels to srs bzns. I appreciate you guys not jumping on the wagon and steering the conversation for funnier waters (hooray mixed metaphors!!!!)

  9. dana says:

I like Ike, but I LOVE Mindy. Please get her on the show!!!

BTW @hardwick, Ike said “You know how everyone’s a nerd now? Like hot women who say “I’m a total nerd, I watch Game of Thrones”?” then compares that to the nerds he encountered at ComiCon. I’m guessing the implication that hot women aren’t nerds is what annoyed @srs bzns

  10. Catherine says:

The Devil and Max Devlin starred that kid from Eight Is Enough AND had a Streisand-like character with a signature song she sang throughout the movie as she rose from a no talent to the No. 1 singing sensation in the US!

I grew up in a foreign country with only three stations…so I’ve probably watched this movie 30 times…along with Arthur, Meatballs, Blazing Saddles and MASH 🙂

  11. chris hardwick says:

@srs bzns: please elaborate! i hate the “fake geek calling out” thing. people do it to me constantly. what was said? i can never remember. i forget the stuff we talk about the second it’s over.

  12. Catherine says:

So good, I listened to it twice…

  13. srs bzns says:

Yeah, gonna be that person but: The start had me giving a sigh, kinda ruined my mood for a lot of the show. I’m just kind of tired of hearing guys make snide side comments about women who they don’t think are geeky enough to be “real geeks” and then laugh about it and brush it off. It’s the whole “fake geek girl” attitude again and perpetuates it. Just sad that this happens even after all the online harping and making fun of the fake geek girl concept.

  14. Nichole says:

Eric Michael Tyson sounds like a 90s heart throb actor

Gonna /nerd-rage here a bit BUT Brielle = Brienne; Lord Bolton = Ramsay Snow; Guy who comes back like 7 times = Baric Dondarrion

I got through the entirety of Valhalla Rising (I didn’t know beforehand that Mads didn’t speak) and didn’t know what was going on the entire time, only that I knew it had to be a giant allegory

Ryan Gosling voice impression = Mickey Doyle from Boardwalk Empire; also, Boardwalk Empire never ceases to impress me – absolutely love the writing

Also – Agents of Shield is surprisingly bad; the writing is not good, the characters are annoying or boring. Skip it. And that’s coming from a comics fan/comic book movie fan

  15. Soul Brother #1 says:

You all forgot some of the harsher points of the the guy’s punishment in Soul Man. He was supposed to give a large portion of his future earnings to a scholarship fund, in addition to paying back the money he’s already used.

  16. madtv lover-4-life says:

When Chris said that speaking of FOX — you were on a Fox show, I swaer to god that he was going to mention MADTV! But Ike brought up the Mindy Project…WHY!?

Why does he skirt the issue that he was on MAD?! It was a funny show and he was one of the standouts. There’s no harm in at least mentioning it. Why are so many comedians having amnesia ABOUT being on that show?! I get a kick out of hearing stories from Bobby Lee’s time on MAD. It’s awesome and needs to come out on Netflix.

  17. Three Toes of Fury says:

Recognize the pic…is this the dude who plays a kinda/sorta arch enemy (aka old school bully) for the gang in The League? if so, he’s hilarious on it!!

    Peace & The Shiva Bowl!

3ToF working on my resume for Taco Corp.

  18. Cal says:

Wow. This was almost a hostful. Good stuff.
