  1. Adventureless_Hero says:

I tend to compliment folks in my real life interactions but just having typed that I realize that just because I’m not face-to-face with someone on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, or other internet realms, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a real life impact. I looked in on #PAYDAY and found it tends to be dominated by posts relating to getting paid by your employer.

Pershmaps we can make #FeelGoodFriday a thing?

  2. Kathleen says:

    How/Where do I find Alexis’s grandfather’s AMA?

  3. Handsome, deep voice, successful project, nice guy. I’m fucking jealous and I hate him

  4. Carlos Perez says:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

  5. susane says:

Just listened to this podcast and I loved it.  the nice commits could be something like Friendly Friday

  6. alienjest says:

Lambeosaurs are my favorite type of dinosaur. It’s not Friday, but you improved my day just by mentioning them!

  7. dresswaltz says:

I am dubious about twitter, because apparently I am old, so I repeat: Pay it Friday?

  8. Lionel says:

“Confirmation Bias” –  the tendency of people to favor information that confirms their beliefs or hypotheses.  This is the idea of surrounding yourself with yourself. Not a good practice, which is why i still listen to Carolla’s podcast, besides the fact that he’s actually funny. I don’t agree with all his thoughts and opinions, but he provides a good counterpoint and challenges my own views and beliefs.
To all the Nerds here, it’s good to expand your horizons beyond the Nerdist paradigm. That said, great ep, Chris.

    • LJ says:

I completely agree, and there are several new studies to back up what you’re saying.
I’ve never limited the things I do and the people I’m around and I never will. I’ll put on a football game and fire up a game on my laptop, all at the same time. And I know that my life is enriched by not limiting myself to a stereotype.

  9. Jenna says:

on the Paying it forward note…anyone here doing GISHWHES this year?
I’m trying to get a team together (i’m at 6)If anyone wants to do it but doesn’t have a team feel free to join. Team is CasualCalamity. 🙂

  10. Karen says:

Love the shout out for Us knitter nerds are thrilled!

  11. Jack says:

    Cool dude.

  12. Alwin says:

LOL, where are these expletive-filled Post Offices? Every one I’ve been in has either been chill or well-controlled simmering rage.

  13. Andy Ellis says:

As an a journalist/writer who has only been able to write for news aggregator sites since graduating last year, despite applying for every opening I can at traditional newspapers, I am very much looking forward to diving deeper into Beacon Reader. I think it’s a great way to keep journalism alive. I will probably listen to this one multiple times. Thanks Chris! I fully support Nerdist’s gradual takeover of the world. Now if we could only get the Nerdist Store up and running.

  14. This was one of my favorite podcasts you guys have ever done.

  15. Ian says:

Chris, you just quoted one of my favorite Yes lyrics, and it made my day.

  16. Amy says:

Great Job guys! I know it is not Friday, but I thought you should hear it anyway… As a knitter with a small video podcast, I LOVED the mention of 🙂 and all of the hobby to career mentions of knitting and crocheting.  I do agree that everyone should learn to program, even if all you find out is that it is not for you.  Learning to program can help expand your knowledge of how to logically lay out complex problems.

  17. Nick says:

I can’t allow a guest to say Wahoowa on the podcast without saying:Hokie, Hokie, Hokie, Hy.
    Tech, Tech, V.P.I.
    Sola-Rex, Sola-Rah.
    Polytech – Vir-gin-ia.
    Rae, Ri, V.P.I.Team Team Team

  18. BassBone says:

I hoped they would have addressed some of the darker corners of reddit and how they’re still allowed to operate, such as /r/theredpill and /r/greatapes. Note, if you value your sanity don’t go their. Racism and misogyny abound.

  19. I’m totally taking partial credit for this.

  20. Juan Garcia says:

    How about NiceGuyTuesday

  22. One of the best podcasts I have heard in quite some time.  I will be looking into several of the ideas Alexis mentioned.

  23. Nate says:

    Hey Stranger,
    Have a great day!
