Science Explains Why Your Cat Keeps Knocking Stuff Over

Science Explains Why Your Cat Keeps Knocking Stuff Over

  1. Aine says:

    Love Adam Scott

  2. Frank says:

    Great stuff!

  3. Manuel says:

    Another great episode!
As a former 11yo I completely agree with Adam´s dislike of “Neverending Story”… “Explorers” worked great with my 6 year olds, but they also didn´t like the trippy aliens end bit.
    Adam&son should watch Gremlins 1&2 🙂

  4. Nick says:

Chris, I laughed out loud like a crazy person while I was running when you said “Now get your ass to Mars” (~9:55). In fact, I went back and scoured this episode just to find it so I could post this comment accurately.
Also I got tickets to your Seattle show. Can’t wait.

  5. Andrea says:

    Adam Scott is dreamy.

  6. Greg says:

@Spencer I can’t stand Big Bang Theory either. It’s admirable that Matt dislikes it a lot.

  7. KenM says:

Dennis Miller’s “Off-White Album” corresponded to his first TV special ‘Live from Washington: It’s Dennis Miller” from the late 80s. This was his only live comedy album. His second TV special was called ‘Black and White”, but there was no album released of that material. His third TV special was called “Live from Washington D.C.” After that came a few mores specials, a couple of TV shows, books (on tape), the Monday Night Football experiment, and a terrorist attack on the US that ruined countless lives and (much less importantly) my favorite comedian.

  8. Erin says:

Another great guest! I can’t believe he hasn’t been on before!! He flows great with you guys, and would love to hear more! I’m having a boy in February and just hearing him talk about watching the old movies he loved with his son makes makes me very excited for those days ahead!

  9. Nichole says:

A bird directed Star Trek: Nemsis. DUH

Adam Scott will always be Griff to me.

  10. Spencer says:

Am I the only one besides Matt that hates Big Bang Theory? I tried watching a marathon and after five I quit. The writing was shitty and predictable and characters really annoying.

  11. Ravelle says:

Yes! I loved him on Talking Bad, this should be great.

  12. Petey says:

First Contact is the only Star Trek movie I liked enough to keep a copy of through all the media formats since it came out & it’s still the only one on my HD. I’ve watched it on first dates with non-nerdy girls, and they’ve actually liked it. Damn good sci-fi!

Parks & rec makes me wheeze laughter out my nose min the middle of the night.

A.S. seems like a funny guy who does good stuff…

  13. Lee says:

Adam Scott is awesome, full stop. If you’ve never heard him own everyone on Doug Loves Movies, you have several terrific listening experiences to look forward to.

  14. Kristoffer says:

Adam on Parks & Rec is great.

  15. Alec says:

I think the best anecdote about the filming of Nemesis was how the director thought Geordi was an alien.

Or maybe it was how Patrick Stewart leveraged his producer’s credit to insert a dune buggy chase sequence for his own amusement.

Out how the disastrous performance of the movie lead Tom Hardy to alcohol and heroin addictions.

  16. Wildride says:

    Worf: “The Defiant?”
Picard: “Adrift — But salvageable. I mean, I assume. There’s really no reasonable way for me to know that information at this stage. Look, I don’t care and really have bigger things to worry about at this time. Stop pressuring me!”
    Shaggy: “Chill out, dude.”
Einstein: “Wait — Why are you here?”

  17. Wildride says:

Nemesis: The first of three consecutive terrible Wrath of Khan ripoffs. Good job, guys.

  19. Alexander says:

Wondering if anyone else though it was the golfer Adam Scott before seeing a pic / listening to podcast? Might be cause I’m an Aussie but I was totally thinking I was about to get a golf edition of Nerdist

  20. Alec says:

That Frakes/Sirtis commentary track is out there and it is awesome.

  21. Alex says:

    *Felicity, not Alias

  22. marthajones19 says:

How are Hardwick and Scott not the same person? I immediately thought of Hardwick when Scott’s character appeared on Parks and Rec. Generic competent white nerdy guy.

  23. Alex says:

I read the summary line as a project that was a mash-up of Adam Scott’s and Scott Foley’s work and thought you guys were going to talk about what would happen if Adam had been on Alias and Scott had been on Party Down.

  24. Rick says:

Chris, next time Mr. Scott is on please discuss your shared experiences appearing on Boy Meets World. His as a handsome rebel who plays by his own rules, and you as the guy who looks relived that Jenny McCarthy isn’t there.

  25. Brian says:

Im not saying this to kiss ass…but Jonah is a hilarious person. Im so glad this podcast exists because when im feeling down..this podcast definitely helps me out. Chris you make me laugh, Jonah you make me laugh a bit harder. Thank you Nerdist.

  26. Kate says:

Aaaaaahhhhh I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for him to be on this show!! Adam Scott is perhaps my favorite human being. Now time to listen while giggling like I’m 16.
