Nerdist Podcast #49: BILLY WEST

In addition to invading your brain with iconic characters such as Stimpy (and later Ren), Fry, & Doug, Billy West also did funny make-em-ups on the Howard Stern show in the early 90s. IF THAT TWEREN’T ENOUGH he’s also a world class musician. In this chat, he piled so much fascinating insight into the psyche of the comedian onto the show that our brain-roofs caved in under the pressure of awesomeness. I am convinced that the recent Metrodome incident happened SOLELY for the purpose of providing an appropriate metaphor to relate it. Plus, he’s nice, which is always my favorite thing.

  1. Sue says:

My family got to meet Billy West a couple of weeks ago, and I totally agree. He’s a great guy; very gracious!

  2. Kate says:

This was a hard interview to listen to. I feel very similar to the ‘have no choice, must be what you are no matter how tough the road’ … thing. It’s eerie, slightly comforting, but mostly, the over arching theme of this podcast (and all the other Nerdist ones), is saying what I feel. Conformation that I just need to be an artist and show people my weird art and have them rejecting some more.
Here’s to it one day maybe having someone pay me.

  3. jake says:

he did a lot of voices…and crack

  4. Rob O says:

Wow. Billy had so many wonderful things to say and it was awesome to hear all those old-yet-familiar voices again. The show was all over the place and it had such a range of topics, I was thoroughly overjoyed!

  5. Absolutely too much awesome.
