Nerdist Podcast #127: THE GUILD

Yes! The entire cast of The Guild! Felicia Day, Sandeep Parikh, Jeff Lewis, Amy Okuda, Robin Thorsen and Vincent Caso crammed onto our tiny stage at NerdMelt in LA to record this show for 150 enthusiastic Guild fans. Fun starts now!

Heads up fer youngins! There’s some coarse language/content here as will be evidenced by the cape with penises on it that was presented to me by one gracious fan. True story.

check out that link lol lol

  2. Liseanne27 says:

Very awesome to have that little visual snippet after listening to this at work yesterday. I was dying to see the reactions on people’s faces at “that moment”. Priceless! : ) Super awesome to hear more of the Guild. This season is the best by far… everyone has come a long way. Can’t wait for the DVD of this season to come out!

  3. Jacob B. says:

love watching the guild…love this podcast. great interview 🙂 (happy faces all around)

  4. eli says:

Great episode. Forgot how much i enjoyed The Guild, Thanks for reminding me. Keep up the great work, nice to see daily updates on the website.

  5. Christian L. says:

the funniest episode, ever! …… This week…

  6. Michael B says:

Please make this free show better by doing more of what I like, less of what I don’t like and present all of it in an audio/video format I find aesthetically pleasing on a timetable that works for me. Please contact me directly if you need assistance in making your art better.

Thanks for the you tube link. I’m not sure what it says about me but I was dying to see the cape.

  7. Ryan says:

JetpackBlues receives 10 points for trolling the trolls.

  8. Zak R. says:

Loved it! Everyone at that table was so funny on their own, it was almost too bad to have them all there at once: too many comics spoiling the broth, and all that. Still, I wish I had the time and money to come visit NerdMelt sometime (or any of the on-the-road shows you’re doing), because every live show I’ve heard has been so incredibly hilarious, I just have to be there! Thanks for the podcast, so the rest of us can at least be there in sound form.

  9. JetpackBlues says:

Hey fuckface, the audio was just fine. Thanks! 😛

All I had to do was TURN UP THE VOLUME on my future device. I know, right? What a novel concept — doing something for yourself instead of bitching over something that’s awesome and free!

  10. Andrew Gelfman says:

Just discovered you guys on the BBC broadcast (which rocked hard) and this was the first podcast I listened to… SCARRED FOR LIFE!

JK …Thanks, I’m now a fan. Great show, guys!

  11. Rogue says:

wow. That cape of dicks is phenomenal and awkward. What does one do with that now?

The dedication of watching gay porn just to make Chris a cape of dicks is pretty impressive.

Anyhow, amusing podcast. Really making me wish I could see you guys live.

  12. SHOGUN says:

Audio was a little low on this one, had to crank up volume on both iTunes player and mac to hear it (I know, complain, complain right?) But it was an excellent episode neverless.

I’ve been meaning to watch The Guild, until now. I’m half way through season 1 and it’s pretty good so props to Felicia Day and her cast/crew!

Oh man, if only I had a cape made of dicks.

  13. Rob O. says:

I wish I could have been there. A combination of two of my favorite things. But this has been long awaited and was exceptional.

I really hope everyone involved with the Guild continues to prosper in the industry because I honestly think they’re all super great.

  14. Vincent E. L. says:

Hunh…correction: I have no idea what happened, but i reloaded and the sound got better. Strange. Still, offer stands, as your podcast often could use some compression.

  15. Vincent E. L. says:

Chris, do you need help with EQ and compression? I totally understand running into problems recording, but usually it can be at least partially fixed to a point where it’s listenable afterward. In the past you’ve had episodes that were largely fine but could have used some noise reduction, a simple compressor and maybe a de-esser, but this one is at serious risk of damaging speakers, and it doesn’t have to be. I had to run this one through two EQ’s and a compressor just to not completely destroy my speakers.
I’m not saying this to whine and complain or throw blame at anyone, I’m saying this as a concerned fan: Do you need help? I can help.

  20. Wtfery says:

  23. Nick says:

    Dammit Chris!!

I want to support you guys by buying the Nerdist Show on iTunes in New Zealand 🙂

Shut up and take my money! 😀

  24. purewitz says:

I like the Nerdist and loved the TV show. If BBC America doesn’t pick you guys up. Heres a wild idea. Why not just buy your video camera and record the show on put on the website here? You know theres a little thing called a video podcast, it doesn’t have to be just audio.

  25. JL says:

Woo. I was at the show and it was super fun. Glad to be able to hear the podcast again!
