Nerdist Joins the New Spotify

Hoo boy, here comes a game-changer! This morning, Spotify announced that a new and improved iteration of the streaming service will begin rolling out this summer. It will still include all the free and premium music you know and love, but it’s also adding supplemental audio and video content to its programming—from podcasts and news, to sports, weather, and entertainment.

Because Spotify doesn’t just stream music anymore: it’s about making all the content we consume throughout our days accessible. We want tunes for our morning commute, office-friendly calming jams, and our favorite podcasts and videos at any given time. The new Spotify offers the chance to curate a playlist of our personal tastes featuring a wide array of our favorite digital content. We’re living in the future, y’all.

We are also pleased as punch to announce that Nerdist will be partnering with Spotify for this momentous new shift as well! That’s right, you’ll now be able to stream the Nerdist Podcast directly from Spotify, along with You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes, The Indoor Kids, Thrilling Adventure Hour, and many more selections from the Nerdist Podcast Network. (Don’t worry, you can still find all of our podcasts here on Nerdist.com, too.)

We’ll also be creating some original programming for initial release on Spotify, including our new web series Celebrity Playlist, hosted by our supremely knowledgeable and hilarious Music Editor, Matt Grosinger. AND, our sister site, Smart Girls at the Party, will also be keeping the dance parties going with a Daily Dance Move of the Day! There may be a few other surprises popping up as the new Spotify rolls out this summer, so stay tuned for more details.

Are you excited for all the treasures that the new Spotify will bring? What sort of original Nerdist content would you like to see more of? Let us know in the comments below.
