Nerdist Is Going Big This Year at FANTASTIC FEST

You know that we here at Nerdist love us some Halloween. And what better way to usher in the spooky holiday season than diving into Fantastic Fest, the largest genre film festival in the US, specializing in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world? Fantastic Fest is held each year at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, Texas and features world, national and regional premieres of new, up-and-coming genre films.

This year Nerdist is a media partner of Fantastic Fest, which means we’re going to be everywhere bringing you all kinds of special video, interviews, access to events, and lots more. There will be comedy from Meltdown favorites Jonah and Kumail and karaoke a-plenty, plus, debates, trivia, BBQ and everything else in between! I’ll be a part of Scott Weinberg’s Fantastic Feud, and of course, movies, movies, movies!

Osgood Perkins’ FEBRUARY

We couldn’t be more excited for Western’s like Bone Tomahawk and The Keeping Room and have heard great things about The Green Room and The Lobster. Horror, of course, is making a strong showing at the festival with entries from two first-time directors like David Eggers’ Sundance smash The Witch and Osgood Perkins’–son of horror icon Anthony Perkins–February, which was a hit earlier this month at TIFF. MAN vs SNAKE looks to be this year’s King of Kong and the perfect companion to Fantastic Arcade.

Be sure to follow Nerdist on Twitter and Periscope, Instagram, and Facebook, and me, Clarke Wolfe, as I’ll be on the ground bringing you behind the scenes access to all of the happenings in Austin.
