MYTHBUSTERS: THE SEARCH Paints with Explosives in New Clip (Exclusive)

What will it take on MythBusters: The Search to emerge from the pack of contestants and become one of the leaders of a whole new generation of the show? It’s going to take someone with lots of scientific knowledge, myriad engineering skills, and–most importantly–a real love of blowing stuff up. Oh, and they will definitely need a colorful personality. So what better way to find someone like that than by having them try to paint with explosives?

In this exclusive clip from the Science Channel for this week’s second episode of MythBusters: The Search, hosted by Nerdist’s very own science editor Kyle Hill, we get a sneak peek at the contestants trying to tackle an old legend the original MythBusters‘ team couldn’t quite solve: whether or not you can paint an entire room with an explosion.

And though technically only one team will emerge victorious from the challenge, as Kyle says, we’re all winners this time “because we get to see stuff go ‘boom.'”

But the good news doesn’t end there. Just like with last week’s premiere, Kyle will be live tweeting along with the East coast airing at 9:00 pm on Saturday night, so make sure you follow him at @Sci_Phile on Twitter. And don’t worry if you don’t have cable, because you can catch up with the debut episode and then watch along live with this week’s installment online, with the Science Channel’s SciGo app.
