Music Geek Track Of The Day: Calvin Harris’ ‘Pray To God’ Feat. Haim

Haim might’ve lost the Grammy for Best New Artist to Sam Smith, but the rock ‘n’ roll sisters from Los Angeles have still managed to clean up this week.

First, they announced that they’ll be joining mutual bestie Taylor Swift when they open for her on the country-turned-pop star’s upcoming 1989 tour. So far, the ladies will be playing seven North American dates* with the “Style” singer. Other acts on the arena tour include Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes.

Second, the official video for the band’s collaboration with DJ/producer Calvin Harris just dropped. It’s for the song “Pray To God” off Harris’ 2014 album, Motion.

For the out-of-this-world clip, Alana, Danielle and Este look especially foxy, donning full faces of makeup but choosing rather understated black attire. Why go goth in such a bouncy dance track? Well, any pops of color might take away attention from their intimidating costars, which just so happen to be lions, tigers and bears. Oh, my!

This partnership with Harris is hardly Haim’s first trip ’round the feature rodeo. In fact, they’ve been known to lend their ethereal vocals to lots of different artists.

One of our favorite duets is one Danielle performs with Childish Gambino on the song “Won’t Stop.”

More recently, the ladies teamed up with Bastille for the track “Bite Down,” off the band’s LP VS (Other People’s Heartache pt. III). You might remember we kvelled about it back in December.

To keep track of Haim’s glorious #longhairdontcare adventures, follow the band on Twitter at @haimtheband.
