@MIDNIGHT Recap: Riki Lindhome, Randall Park, Ashley Williams, and More!

Welcome back, readers! It’s been quite a while since we have had the chance to re-capture the fun of a week filled with points and jokes, and of course, our fearless leader Chris Hardwick. Here we go!

Riki Lindhome, Jason Ritter, and Michael Ian Black – Full Episode

We kicked off the week with an episode paying tribute to Comedy Central’s new series, Another Period, featuring three of the stars of the show. Chris opened the show by giving his two cents on the Ashley Madison hack, as well as divulging his secret Doctor Who-themed sexual fantasy. He then invited the panelists to get in on the fun and divulge their own sexual fantasies that would be leaked in a similar hack.

After Chris reminisced about San Diego Comic-Con, taking selfies with famous movie casts, and completely blocking Harrison Ford out of his Star Wars selfie, he asked the panelists to think of another epic line that can be made more dramatic with the “BWOOONG” sound from movie trailers. He then also asked them to come to the defense of the shark that went after professional surfer Mick Fanning at a South African surf competition. Next #HashtagWars took on the topic #HistoricalRealityShows, in honor of Another Period. Watch the clip below for some of the most clever historical comedy you’ll see all day. The trio offered up hypothetical tweets about early 20th-century events and offered up a possible wedding toast by this concussed bridesmaid for the live challenge. In our classiest wrap up for all three panelists, Chris gave them 60 seconds to offer up Cop Shows based around fart jokes, and For The Win saw the trio compose outgoing messages from Stephen Hawking to the extraterrestrials he hopes to discover.

Alice Wetterlund, Randall Park, and Hari Kondabolu – Full Episode

The next night held no special theme other than just funny people saying funny things, and Chris asked the panelists to give the KKK a new slogan after a comedic video of their march in South Carolina went viral. Soon after, Rapid Refresh offers the panelists a chance to celebrate Japan’s Handjob Day and rename the holiday’s mascot, Tengaman, as well as classifying a stoner bird that stole a man’s joint and flew off. The comedians that got to rock out to some #BabyJams in #HashtagWars and come up with political endorsements for politicians with crazy campaign ads. Live challenge same them making voicemail messages for phone numbers Donald Trump might have saved in his phone, categorize types of drunks people can turn into, and finally Alice and Hari face-off For The Win by reading excerpts from a fake journal of someone who ate Chapotle every day for over 100 days.

Ashley Williams, Adam Goldberg, and Jade Catta-Preta – Full Episode

Things start off with a bang on Wednesday as Chris and the comedians pick fights with others on twitter for no reason. Rapid Refresh let the panelists trying out their congressional pick-up lines, as well as create some disappointing discoveries about classic Dr. Suess characters. The gang celebrated the release of Sharknado 3 with wonderful shark pun topic #SharkMovies for #HashtagWars. Next up, the comedians had to create taglines for poorly translated titles to English titles in other countries and had to guess if a photobomb was creepy or cute. It is one of Chris’s favorite games… find out why in the clip below! Finally, the three race to offer as many gifts as they can to Little Price George on his second birthday. For The Win saw stars of The Jim Gaffigan Show, Ashley and Adam, face-off in creating new pieces of wisdom to be dropped by Jayden Smith.

Horatio Sanz, Jerry Minor, and Matt Besser – Full Episode (Uncensored)

For our last show of the week, our three hilarious contestants decided to wake and bake the show by renaming a marijuana-themed bed and breakfast. Rapid Refresh sees the return of the Panderdome as the comedians take a guess at Rand Paul’s new YouTube and give it a horror film rename, as well has find news ways to improve the New York Subway system. #HashtagWars learned some things we didn’t want to know with the topic of #ClearedMyHistoryBecause, and you can share in that uncomfortable mess with the NSFW clip below. The comedians had to explain the story behind photoshopped vacation pictures, guess whether a freeze frame is from a gay porn film or a Christian drama, and come up with duck-based demands made by these ducks.

That’s it for this week, but be sure to check in to Nerdist.com for more recaps of @midnight — especially now that it is confirmed they will return for season 3!
