Michio Kaku Explains the “Real” Science Behind FANTASTIC FOUR

We are a few weeks out from the release of the new Fantastic Four movie from 20th Century Fox. It’s weird that properties from the same company are competitors, but that’s the world we live in. I am intrigued from what I have seen so far because it looks like we are getting something different. The tone of this film seems to lean more towards science fiction than it does comic-book action. While I love comic-book movies, something new is always welcome.

It seems that 20th Century Fox wanted to lean on that science fiction even more in these series of videos. Theoretical physicist Michio Kaku introduces each one, telling us how the science from the movie is not as “sci-fi” as we might think. It reminds me of the Arthur C. Clarke quote “Magic is just science we don’t understand yet.” Oh, and you do NOT lose points if you are thinking “Wait, wasn’t that from Thor?”

The above video discusses alternate dimensions. Here are three more covering other aspects of the movie’s science.

Teleportation

Wormholes

Invisibility

If you’d like to check out OUR take on invisibility, here is an article from our science editor and Because Science host Kyle Hill.

Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell, opens in theatres August 7.

What do you guys think? Are you already planning your interdimensional portal? As long as you aren’t trying to become your own version of the Human Torch, I’ll be happy. Either way, let me know on Twitter or in the comments below.
