Michael B. Jordan May Star in Vampire Comedy BLOOD BROTHERS

Although Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot wasn’t the blockbuster that the studio was hoping for, it hasn’t put Michael B. Jordan off from comic book movies! The man who most recently portrayed the Human Torch is circling the adaptation of Dark Horse Comics’ Blood Brothers for MGM.

Writers Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller created the Blood Brothers miniseries with artist Evan Shaner in 2013. The comic book followed Nick and Tree, a pair of vampires whose friendship stretches back a thousand years and they shared several adventures together throughout the ages. If Jordan signs on to the Blood Brothers film, he would portray Tree.

In the Blood Brothers comic, Nick and Tree have a falling out in the present, but they are forced to stay together in order to prevent the apocalyptic plans of another vampire. Jurassic World’s Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly previously worked on the Blood Brothers script before Etan Cohen (Men in Black 3). But now MGM is reportedly looking for a new writer/director to give Blood Brothers “a more grounded vision” and a tone similar to Lethal Weapon and 48 Hours.

Dark Horse Comics founder Mike Richardson is attached to Blood Brothers as an executive producer, with Keith Goldberg, Matt Dines, Adam Rosenberg, and Jonathan Glickman also producing the film.

Jordan’s next film will be Creed, a spinoff from the Rocky franchise in which Jordan will play Adonis Creed, the son of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) from the first four Rocky films.
