Mark Hamill is Finally Getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

We were shocked to realize that Mark Hamill didn’t already have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, what with a four-decade career behind him and a longstanding seat as the face of the biggest franchise in pop culture. Thankfully, this wrong is about to be righted! Variety reports that Hamill will soon become the 2,630th person to get a star on the iconic stretch of Hollywood Boulevard.

The man who brought Luke Skywalker to life and spent years voicing the Joker—as well as just being really, really lovely—will be getting his dues on March 8, with a star positioned right in front of the El Capitan Theatre! Hamill will be joined by George Lucas and his Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford, who’ll be hosting the celebration alongside Leron Gubler, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. If you want to join the festivities, make sure you arrive early; the ceremony starts at 11:30am and will likely be very, very busy! After all, who doesn’t love a Star War?

The timing of Hamill’s recognition probably has something to do with the DVD/Blu-Ray release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is being unleashed for fans to take home on March 27. We can’t wait for Mark Hamill to have his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and you can guarantee you’ll see us there keeping it shiny. We have nothing but respect for our galactic president!

Are you stoked to see Star Wars’ little farm boy get the respect he deserves? Just wanna see Harrison Ford and his hoop earring in real life? Holding out for a visit until Carrie Fisher gets her star? Let us know in the comments!
