MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Gets a Little Bit of Tina Turner in This Fan Edit Video

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Mad Max: Fury Road is hands down the best of all the Mad Max films (yes, even more so than The Road Warrior. I’m controversial). I’d also say that the last movie in the post-apocalyptic saga, 1985’s Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, is maybe the least loved of all of them. It does have one special thing going for it, though: legendary rock icon Tina Turner as Aunty Entity, the leader of Bartertown, working platinum hair and the fiercest earrings of all time, making you totally wish she had been cast as Storm in the X-Men movies.

Director George Miller cast Tina Turner in the part because he wanted someone who could accurately portray a character that lived through a nuclear holocaust and not just survived it, but even thrived after it. If you know anything about Tina Turner’s personal life, you know why she was perfect for such a part. (And if you don’t know, I highly suggest watching the 1993 biopic What’s Love Got To Do With It starring Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne.)

Tina Turner had a hit song from the movie’s soundtrack with “We Don’t Need Another Hero”, and the song was arguably much more successful than the movie, which never gained the popularity of The Road Warrior. Now, a fan by the name of Nick Bosworth  has taken the old MTV video of the song and replaced the footage of Beyond Thunderdome with Fury Road but kept all the Tina Turner parts. Watch the video below, don’t miss our exclusive special report on the new Mad Max trilogy, and for Pete’s sake, if you haven’t seen Fury Road yet, go out and do so as soon as possible.
