Look, A Nerdist FAQ Over At BBC America’s Blog

Hey, did you know that the Nerdist TV special is going to be on BBC America Saturday, September 24th at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific? Yes, you do, because we told you so. And you’ve told your friends, and they’ll be watching, too, except for those friends who have looked at you quizzically and asked, “Nerdist who?” As hard as it may be to imagine, there are people who aren’t familiar with this here thing. And for them, BBC America asked me to do a little introductory set of Frequently Asked Questions about Nerdist, which turned out to be not-all-that-frequently asked but should help explain what we’re all about, so that when the show pops up on the unitiated American public’s televisual apparatuses, they’ll know with what they’re dealing.

That post is over at BBC America’s Anglophenia blog, and you can read it by clicking here. And you’ll be seeing more stuff related to the Nerdist TV show and nerdism and nerdly topics over there right up to air time, and we’ll alert you here to some of those posts. In the meantime, have I mentioned that the Nerdist TV special is going to be on BBC America Saturday, September 24th at 10 pm Eastern and Pacific? Yes? Well, I’m mentioning it again. BECAUSE IT IS.

Besgt of luck, boys! I desperately want to see the show, but alas, I too am floating aimlessly in the birch bark canoe that is Canada …

  2. SHOGUN says:

Actually scratch that, I will DVR it AND watch it live, so they get the ratings numbers.

  3. Braedon says:

BBC Canada is a piece of crap, not only will they not be carrying your program, but they don’t air anything else worth watching, this is annoying.

    *sets up proxy*

    fucking geo-blockers.

  4. matte says:

Wow did I just feel pride for a thing I just listen to? I guess its just a testament to the format and how good you guys are that I legitimately feel like my “friends” got a show on BBC. Thanks for the hours of joyful distraction and belly laughs. I cant wait to watch!

  5. Gabriel says:

My dvr is set and ready.

  6. Jake says:

That FAQ is epically awesome. I just realized I need a thesaurus really bad to find more words than epic and awesome; I use those two words too frequently.

  7. Jeremy says:

I’m legit bummed that I can’t watch this because I don’t have cable.

  8. CXRengel says:

Somebody once told me the difference between geeks and nerds:

Geeks are obsessed to the point that nothing else matters to them.

Nerds are obsessed, but don’t let it interfere with their “intellectual endeavors”.

By that logic, nerds are “smart geeks”. Let the flame wars begin.

  9. SHOGUN says:

Will definitely check this out. I guess I’ll wait and see, but in terms of format is it like how it is now in podcast form with banter amongst you three (Big C, Mira Booey and VaJonah)? Or is it straight talk show-ish ala Graham Norton?

Are there sketches involved? Is Anamanaguchi the house band? Are people in the audience going to be eating massive burritos? Setting DVR when I get home!

  10. Rob B says:

I’m in the same boat as Kris Fruin. I suppose it’s some kind of birch bark canoe because it’s Canadian. Are these shows going to be released as podcasts on Itunes?

  11. Tony says:

If only I had cable or friends who had cable… or just friends.

  12. Kris Fruin says:

Any chance of BBC Canada airing this as well?

  13. Sarah says:

I am soooooooooo excited to watch you guys talk and instead of just hearing you. You made my Saturday nights even better, new episode of Who and then Nerdist!!! Love you guys!

  14. Logan says:

I am a nut for statistics. I would be interested to know how many Nerdist readers/listeners also have access to BBC America on cable. Unfortunately I do not have cable and wait for Doctor Who to show up on Netflix. Good luck with the show, I am sure it will do well.
