Kevin Feige Teases How He’ll Replace the Marvel Actors!

Marvel Studios may be done for 2018, but they can rest comfortably with two of the biggest superhero movies of all-time…plus Ant-Man and the Wasp. Now that the Disney and Fox deal is finally approved, it’s only a matter of time before the Marvel Cinematic Universe adds the X-Men and Fantastic Four as well. But what about the original MCU heroes who made the franchise into a blockbuster machine? Marvel’s Kevin Feige recently addressed that lingering issue, and today’s Nerdist News will tell you what it may mean for the MCU.

Join guest host and Snappening survivor, Hector Navarro, as he walks us through Feige’s interview with…The CostCo Connection?! Apparently, that’s not only a real publication, it’s where Feige said that “I have no doubt that all of  our actors, who are in peak physical shape, have got another 50 years in them to be heroes.”

We think ol’ Kevin is being a bit facetious, especially since both Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. have signaled their desire to leave the MCU behind after Avengers 4. And while Feige didn’t directly say recasting would be an option, he did speak about updating the characters. There are a few ways to approach the passing of the torch on the big screen. Younger actors could eventually take over the roles of Captain America and Iron Man, just like James Bond gets a fresh model every decade or so. Alternately, other heroes like Bucky, Falcon, and War Machine could step up to fill the void.

Do you really think Disney purchased Marvel with the understanding that there would only ever be three solo films each for Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor? At some point, we’ll all of those heroes again, even if their original actors won’t be sticking around long enough to appear in an Avengers vs. X-Men movie.

How do you think Marvel should handle it’s upcoming departures? Share your theories in the comment section below!
