Peep Justin Willman’s DRUNK HISTORY-INSPIRED Engagement Video

Justin Willman—magician, comedian, Cupcake Wars overlord and all around friend to the Nerdist family—and the lovely Jillian Sipkins got married earlier this month and put out what has to be one of the best “How did we meet” videos that has ever existed.

Inspired by Derek Waters’ hilarious comedy central show Drunk Historythe couple downed quite a few drinks and shared the story of how they met. As Willman puts it on his YouTube channel, “We didn’t want to waste time at the wedding reception having to answer the question ‘how did you two meet?’, so with the help of a few friends and a lot of booze we made this video to show at the rehearsal dinner.” Much like the segments in the television show, their inebriated narration is acted out as best it could by their friends.

The video is proof positive that the Drunk History format is one that works so when retelling pretty much any story—and there’s no doubt this will soon be imitated by couples around the world. The chemistry between the Sipkins and Willman is, dare I say, intoxicating and you can tell they have the chemistry that makes a great couple. And it’s certainly no surprise that Willman would bring this level of fun to something like a wedding video when you consider the energy he brought to his Magic Meltdown series here on Nerdist.com:

We frankly want all wedding videos to be like this and have Justin and Jill to thank for what we hope becomes a trend. From the bottom of our collective hearts here at Nerdist, congratulations Jill & Justin. We wish you nothing but the best and a lifetime of joy!

Crap, we should have gone with a magic pun there. “May your lives be magical.” It was right there and we missed it! Let us know what you think of the video and congratulate the happy couple in the comments below!
