New INJUSTICE 2 Trailer Unleashes the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Last week, fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were practically spitting fire over the new character designs from Nickelodeon’s upcoming animated series. But for those purists, the classic TMNT is always going to be around in some form, and the latest Injustice 2 trailer is proof of that.

Following the initial announcement, gamers openly wondered how all four Turtles would be integrated into the mix. Now, the first official TMNT gameplay footage has confirmed that Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael will all be playable characters. And yes, the Turtle boys will indeed be able to team up along the way!

The official YouTube channel for Injustice 2 debuted this video and confirmed that the Turtles went on a one-way trip to DC’s multiverse following a battle with Krang. And while this isn’t the TMNT’s world, they’re going to make themselves right at home alongside some of the most iconic heroes and villains in comics. In this trailer, the Turtles take turns wailing on the bad guys while each of the four brothers gets his moment in the spotlight.

So far, Donatello’s battle staff looks particularly enticing, and Raphael’s super move features contributions from all three of his brothers. It also appears that each of the Turtles can call upon their brothers to perform assist attacks during the course of a match. That may add another dimension of strategy to the game, and we’re eager to see more of the Turtles in play. Also, we think that Raphael’s victory screen is paying homage to Mortal Kombat‘s infamous “toasty!” meme.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DLC will be released in Injustice 2 later this month.
