HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD’s London Cast Join Broadway Run

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be bringing its secrets from London to New York next spring when the two part play opens on Broadway (take a second and breathe that news in.) and we’re grabbing our time turners and hopping aboard the Knight Bus to NYC so we can view the continuation of Harry’s story. Equally exciting as the news that Cursed Child will be on Broadway is Broadway.com‘s reports that April 22, 2018 premiere at the Lyric Theatre will have familiar faces, too, as seven stars of the original run of Cursed Child in London’s West End are coming across the pond with the show.

The play, set 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, focuses on Harry and his son, Albus Severus Potter. Being a child of the Chosen One isn’t easy, and Albus feels like he has big robes to fill as he starts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Talk about baggage.

Jamie Parker as Harry Potter and Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter

The cast has received praise for their performances in the tale that jumps around Harry Potter history, so it’s reassuring to hear the main characters will be apparating into Lyric Theatre alongside 28 new castmates. Reprising their roles are Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter, Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger, Paul Thornley as Ron Weasley, Poppy Miller as Ginny Potter, Alex Price as Draco Malfoy, and Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy.

If you simply can’t wait to see Cursed Child on the stage, you can purchase the script by Jack Thorne in print or digital formats ( read our review).
