GHOSTBUSTERS Director Paul Feig Says Shooting is Complete

When the filming’s done,
In the neighborhood,
Who you gonna call?
The editors!

(If you only read that normally please go back and sing it to get the full effect. Thank you.)

[Editor’s Note: We here at Nerdist do not condone such a terrible, song-related joke, but we also, like Voltaire, believe in Mikey’s desire to say things.]

What are we singing about today? Well, Ghostbusters director Paul Feig tweeted out that shooting on the film is all done.

(Do directors just go everywhere with toys from the movie? Because I’d do the exact same thing so I find that comforting.)

The last day of shooting included one very special actor, as Paul Feig also tweeted about one of the original Ghostbusters coming to the set on the last day.

It’s no surprise that shooting wrapped now, as two of the main characters in the movie, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, need to get back to Saturday Night Live, which has its season premiere on October 3rd. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy play the other two members of the newest proton pack-wearing crew.

Leslie Jones might have a pretty good regular job, but she already let her director know how she feels about the end of her time with Paul Feig.

And the love is mutual.

Aww isn’t that nice? I know the casting I was most excited by was Leslie Jones. If this movie is the success I expect it to be, there will probably be a sequel (or four) in their future.

The new Ghostbusters is scheduled to open on July 16, 2016.
