Get Thy Done, Nerds! RPG Todo App

This is beyond brilliant. This is exactly what I’m talking about when I refer to refocusing the nerd mind for Good.

I haven’t used it, so I can’t comment on its utility or ease of use yet but I will and I shall.

Get the app here or visit EpicWinApp.com for more deets.

Thanks for the heads-up, @jeremy_in_pdx!

The moment I read thios and saw the video it reminded me of Jesse Schell’s presentation @ DICE 2010, watch it’s really entertaining.

Doesnt this feel like a bit of a copy of SCVNGR?

Nothing motivates me to work like screaming zombie celery.

I think this is brilliant! I just bought this app and I find it very useful. I agree also that there should be more game elements but I’m just so excited to do things to see my guy level up. This definantly will keep me motivated to do things.

  5. Marc says:

As a player of RPGs and lover of math, the quantification of anything gets me motivated. And this certainly does the trick when I want to get something done.

I agree with Neal, in that I’d like if they had more game-y elements so the achieved loot, gold and levels feel useful. However, just seeing numbers go up for my little undead d00d makes me want to do more stuffs!

  6. Neal says:

I have this, and it’s just a little bit disappointing. The to do list stuff works great, and the point system is pretty brilliant, but the RPG stuff is not rewarding enough to really reinforce the to do list. It’s pretty minimal. All you do is walk and then occasionally find items that, while featuring clever descriptions, don’t do anything, and then sometimes you level up. I’d like to see a version of this with an expanded RPG thing. Though, design-wise, it’s pretty gorgeous.

  7. Sweet merciful mother of God this is brilliant!
