Kelsey Grammer’s FRASIER Reboot Has Fans in an Uproar

Eventually, everything on TVLand will get a reboot or a revival. The X-Files, Will & Grace, Murphy Brown, and other television classics have already received continuations or network pickups. Now, it’s time for some tossed salad and scrambled eggs! Kelsey Grammer is attempting to spearhead a revival of Frasier at CBS, which would put the actor back into the role he played for two decades on the original Frasier and Cheers. But why does this news have Frasier fans in an uproar? Today’s Nerdist News is checking in with Chopper Dave for answers!

Join host and Maris Crane’s former roommate, Jessica Chobot, as she goes over the only details available about the Frasier revival. Apparently, Grammer and his collaborators see this new show as a reboot, in terms of only featuring Krammer as he lives in a new city after once again reinventing his life. That means no Daphne, no Niles, no Roz, and no Maris!

Veteran actor John Mahoney passed away earlier this year, so of course he wouldn’t be able to reprise his role as Frasier and Niles’ father, Martin Crane. But Jane Leeves, David Hyde Pierce, and Peri Gilpin are all still around. Look, we love Frasier, but it was the supporting cast that made the show into something special. Where would it have gone without that amazing group of actors and actresses to bring those characters to life?

As it happens, team Nerdist has a few thoughts about what we’d like to see in a Frasier revival as well. And in this video, we’re going to share them with you!

How do you feel about the proposed Frasier revival? Let’s discuss in the comment section below!
