First Look at SUPERNATURAL’s Misha Collins on TIMELESS (Exclusive)

First Look at SUPERNATURAL’s Misha Collins on TIMELESS (Exclusive)

Misha Collins is donning a different kind of trench coat for Timeless. The Supernatural angel has joined Eric Kripke’s time travel series as historical figure Eliot Ness in the next episode, “Public Enemy No. 1,” and Nerdist has your first look at the fun guest spot.

The episode featuring Collins centers on Flynn (Goran Višnjić) time traveling back to the Great Depression era to call in a favor with the infamous Al Capone (guest star Cameron Gharaee). Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter), and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) decide to take matters into their own hands, and the newly reunited trio (thank goodness!) follow him and ally with the only man who can bring Capone down: Ness, leader of the famous Untouchables, a group of nine U.S. federal law enforcement agents who worked from 1929 to 1931 to catch Capone.

Their strategy of aggressively enforcing Prohibition laws against Capone’s empire earned them the reputation of being incorruptible and downright legendary. Since this episode takes place near the end of their campaign against Capone, expect to see some major action, as Flynn helps Capone avoid justice. And they discover a clue leading the team to a crucial revelation about Rittenhouse, the organization they’re now working to destroy while pretending to cooperate with. What a tangled, time-traveling web we’re all weaving!

The exclusive first look at the episode shows Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus having a quiet heart-to-heart with Ness about how much hunting Capone has changed his life for the worse. He had to say goodbye to his family for their safety and move to a rundown apartment, all in the name of bringing justice on the world’s most notorious gangster. But will the trio clue Ness in to the truth about Capone’s new ally? Press play to watch the heartbreaking clip below:

“When the Eliot Ness character first came up, I immediately thought of Misha, and I’m so thrilled to be working with him again,” executive producer Kripke said about casting Collins as Ness. “Misha brings his charisma, his talent, and frankly, all of his angelic qualities to the role.”

Collins’ episode of Timeless stages a mini-Supernatural reunion with Kripke, as they worked together on The CW’s longest-running series for seasons four and five, when the mythology of angels was first introduced. Collins has since become a series regular on-and-off, and Kripke departed as showrunner to develop and run other shows including Timeless and the short-lived Revolution (while still acting as an executive consultant on Supernatural). And since both Timeless and Supernatural film in Vancouver, Collins was able to shoot both shows at the same time, without having to limit his time on either one. It was a match made in … well, heaven!

Are you excited to see Collins and Kripke team up once again, even if it’s only for one episode? What do you think of Collins as Eliot Ness? Think Cas would approve of his selfless lifestyle all in the name of justice? Tweet me your thoughts at @SydneyBucksbaum!
