First Look at Apocalypse, His Horsemen, and More from X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

First Look at Apocalypse, His Horsemen, and More from X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

20th Century Fox focused much of its San Diego Comic-Con presence this year on Deadpool, but that is not to say they didn’t have some nice bits to show off from the newest X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse. Of course, the bit of footage they showed leaked online last week, but for those interested in a clearer and more official look at Bryan Singer’s next mutant, Entertainment Weekly has your back. The newest issue of Entertainment Weekly offers a cover, as well as several images inside, that give us a better look at Oscar Isaac as the titular first mutant, Apocalypse, and the first look at Olivia Munn in full costume as Psylocke.

Storm, Apocalypse, and Psylocke

I have to admit, Munn looks like she stepped right out of the pages of the Chris Claremont era and is 100% on point as Psylocke. I’m sure that’s a big relief for her, too. Munn is a big fan of the character, as we have seen how much she has been sharing her excitement online. From training with her sword to dying her hair, she has made sure to keep everyone else just as in the loop as she can about her excitement.

Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, however, is a stranger story. The big baddie for the new movie seems to be a fusion of his comic book iteration and Ivan Ooze from The Mighty Morhphin’ Power Rangers Movie back in the mid-90s. Many fans remember that both comic book and cartoon versions of Apocalypse stood at least seven feet tall and wielded just about any mutant ability he cared to, thanks to control over his molecular structure. So far all we know is that this version hold the ability of mental manipulation over others in order to control people and bend them to his will. Isaac himself has also said that his character will be a combination of both computer and practical effects, so for all we know this is not exactly how he will appear in the final film.
