First Look ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS Character Portraits

Every little bit of Alice Through The Looking Glass that we get provides a deeper look at both the glorious world-building of Lewis Carroll and how Disney Studios is bringing that world to life. In this latest release from the studio, the characters come alive in all their glory.

Each portrait that you can see here now (below) has the characters holding an important element of the new movie in their hand, and they all tie back to Sacha Baron Cohen‘s character, Time. The gorgeous little golden orb (which frankly reminds me quite a bit of a snitch if I’m being completely honest) is the Chronosphere and the subject of Alice’s quest in this new chapter of the Underland saga. After a number of years exploring the high seas like her father, Mia Wasikowska‘s Alice returns to London and is called back to Underland via a funny looking glass. Anne Hathaway‘s Mirana sends her on a quest to “borrow” the Chronosphere from the Grand Clock, and bring it back to help Depp‘s Mad Hatter get back his Muchness.

I promise the above is not jibberish or nonsense. The Mad Hatter’s Muchness is the awesome thing that gives him his vim and vigor and makes him super fun and full of whimsy. And given his joyful countenance in his own portrait, let’s hope he succeeds. Alice Through The Looking Glass has released three teaser trailers and one full trailer in the last week. With the addition of these character portraits, I would say that Walt Disney Studios is gearing up for some stellar audience teasing around these holiday months. The film hits theaters May 27th, 2016.

Let us know your thoughts about these portraits and the direction of the sequel in the comments below!
