Explore SILICON VALLEY’s Intro in This Hyper-Detailed Breakdown

HBO original shows are known for their intricate and elaborate title sequences, and the network’s brilliant tech comedy, Silicon Valley, is no exception. However, unlike shows like Game of Throneswhere the opening credits last well over a minute, the Silicon Valley credits are only about 15 seconds long. But things move fast in the Valley, so 15 seconds is plenty of time to give a hearty nod to the epicenter of our nation’s technological development.

A semi-distracted viewer of the show’s titles can likely pick up not only references to some of the biggest names in tech like Google. That same viewer could also probably notice how Silicon Valley‘s mini-Valley changes each season to highlight which companies went under, burst onto the scene, or which smaller companies were bought out by big names.

But it turns out that there are loads more references to tech culture in the Silicon Valley‘s mini-Valley. Some go by so quickly, or are such “inside baseball” references, that you may have missed them. Luckily, Gizmodo spotted this video from the Shots Fired YouTube channel, which offers a detailed breakdown of Silicon Valley‘s titles to make sure you don’t miss a single reference. Take a look:

Whether or not you keep up-to-date with news and developments in the Valley, there were more than likely a couple of clever references you missed. While you might not have recognized every company mentioned, one of the most impressive things about the Silicon Valley titles are the clever references to major events in these companies. From the FBI trucks out front of the Theranos’ headquarters to the “golden parachutes” carrying the Twitter CEOs away from the building, this video is packed full of clever nods to life in the Valley, which only makes us love this hilarious show even more.

Did you catch all of the references in the Silicon Valley title sequence on your own? What is your favorite reference from the show’s opening? Tell us in the comments!
