Evangeline Lilly Talks About Her MCU Future and Writing a New Comic Heroine

There are SPOILERS AHEAD if you haven’t seen Ant-Man yet! Especially for the mid-credits scene. Stop reading now if you aren’t up-to-date with the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

During the Ant-Man mid-credits scenes, fans were given the first glimpse of Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp costume when Hope van Dyne finally received her father’s blessing to carry on the heroic mantle created by her mother, Janet van Dyne. But during a recent Facebook Q&A, Lilly revealed that she hasn’t actually suited up in her costume yet!

“I was scanned for [The Wasp] suit, but then I got pregnant. Let’s hope I fit it again! #ineedtime!” When asked if she tried on her costume, she replied “No. I’ve been too pregnant.”

It’s not currently known if Ant-Man will get a sequel from Marvel Studios, although Paul Rudd will reprise his role as Scott Lang in next year’s Captain America: Civil War and Michael Douglas has expressed a willingness to return to the MCU. Marvel’s Kevin Feige has promised that Lilly will suit up as the Wasp in a future MCU movie. However, it appears that even Lilly isn’t sure when Hope will make her next appearance.

When asked whether she would wear the Wasp costume in the future, Lilly wrote, “I ‘hope’ so. Keep bugging Marvel about it!”

Lilly also revealed that she has a comic book project in the works. “I am writing [a comic character] next year. So, I have to keep it a surprise. It’s not a superhero, but she is a very cool heroine.”
