DOOM PATROL #11 Looks Even Weirder Than Usual (Exclusive)

From its very first issue,  Young Animal’s newest incarnation of Doom Patrol has been one of the wildest, weirdest and most original comics on the shelves! Written by Young Animal’s curator-in-chief Gerard Way and illustrated by Nick Derrington, the ongoing series will hit its two-year mark this September, and the long awaited #11 is about to be unleashed on fans and the world. We’ve got an exclusive preview of the upcoming issue, which sees Way and Derrington team up with colorist Tamra Bonvillian and letterer Todd Klein to get back to business after the incredible Doom Patrol/ Justice League of America crossover, Milk Wars!

As usual, this issue looks to be a mystery wrapped in a puzzle, topped with a good dollop of weird as the team continues to battle the Brotherhood of Dada. We also get some background on The Disappointment, whose character design is one of the best and most intriguing in comics.

Derrington and Bonvillian are a force to be reckoned with and, as our exclusive pages show, Doom Patrol is one of the best looking comics out there! Dynamic, fun, and engaging, it’s a fresh take on the classic superhero fare DC is known for.

It looks like the team is getting closer to finding out the backstory of their “Withheld for Copyright Reasons”-stamped foe, though not before he traps Jane in her “Quiet Place,” which doesn’t look like it’s going to lead to anything good.

Doom Patrol continues to be a magical mystical ride that pushes the boundaries of what we can expect from Big Two comics, and you can check out our exclusive pages and full covers—including a rad variant by Tess Fowler—in our gallery below!

You can grab the latest issue of Doom Patrol this Wednesday April 15! Are you a fan of the wackiest team in the DCU? Just love yourself some good DP action? Can’t wait to learn all about The Disappointment? Let us know below!
