Disney’s Dream Big, Princess Campaign Profiles Kathleen Kennedy and More Trailblazers

Disney announced their partnership with the UN Foundation’s Girl Up initiative and the return of the #DreamBigPrincess campaign in July, and now it’s here. Disney released details about their #DreamBigPrincess global video series ahead of International Day of the Girl on October 11; the videos are produced and directed by 21 young women from Girl Up and highlight 20 women across different fields such as fashion, entertainment, science, politics, and more…women like Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative officer Jennifer Lee.

Who better to learn from about pursuing your dreams and achieving success? Kathleen Kennedy explained the importance of the series in a release: “The #DreamBigPrincess series is giving a voice to a group of talented young women, helping them tell stories that kids can learn from, whatever their ambition.” The shorts are available to watch digitally right now on Disney’s website, and you can get a feel for the 20-part series in this sizzle reel showing off the filmmakers and their subjects.

The 20 women featured in the series include research scientist Asmaa Boujibar, photographer Ashima Narain, president and CEO of Softtek Blanca Treviño, actress Emily Blunt, Canadian Liberal politician Celina Caesar-Chavannes, chief creative officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios Jennifer Lee, entrepreneur Jo Malone CBE, Brazilian skateboarder Karen Jonz, designer Karen Walker CNZM, president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy, Imagineer Leia Mi, Chilean astronomer Maria Teresa Ruiz, actress Martina Stoessel, professor or neuroscience Monica Lopez Hidalgo, medical doctor Dr. Ndifanji Namacha, chef Paola Carosella, broadcaster Robin Roberts, vice president of product marketing at Apple Inc Susan Prescott, lawyer Virginie Delalande, and gold medal-winning Paralympian Victoria Arlen.

Disney’s collaboration with Girl Up features a charitable component, too. Disney Worldwide Services will donate one dollar to Girl Up (up to one million dollars) for each like or share of a video or photo with the #DreamBigPrincess hashtag on a public post on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter through November 20, 2018.
